We collect the following information when you use our story creation service: character names, ages, physical descriptions, and story theme preferences. If you purchase from our store, we may collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, and shipping addresses. We also collect anonymous data related to story and artwork generation to improve our software.

How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used exclusively to create personalized children's stories and to fulfill product orders. We do not sell or share any personal information collected with third parties, except for third-party services necessary to fulfill orders (such as payment processors and shipping providers).

We implement encryption and secure storage measures to protect your personal information. Access is restricted to authorized personnel who require it to deliver our services.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Snug Stories is designed for use by parents and guardians on behalf of their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. When a parent or guardian provides character details (such as a child's name, age, and appearance), this information is used for story generation and may be stored in child profiles if the parent creates an account. Character details are never shared with or sold to third parties.

Parental Consent

Before entering any child's information into our custom story creator, a parent or guardian must confirm that they are 13 years of age or older and consent to providing character details for story personalization. If you create an account, child profile data is stored securely and can be deleted at any time from your profile dashboard.

Data Retention

Character details submitted through the story creation form are sent to third-party AI providers (Groq, Google) for story generation. If you create an account, child profiles (name, age, appearance) are stored securely in our database so you can reuse them for future stories. You can delete child profiles at any time from your profile dashboard.

If you choose to save a story using the "Save & Share" feature, the generated story text and illustration are stored for up to 30 days (free accounts) or permanently (Premium accounts), after which free-tier stories are automatically and permanently deleted. We do not guarantee the availability of saved stories for any specific duration and may remove them at any time without notice. We recommend downloading a PDF copy of any story you wish to keep. We also retain anonymous aggregate usage metrics (total story count per month) which contain no personal information.

AI-Generated Content Safety

All stories are generated using AI models that are instructed to produce only child-safe, age-appropriate content. We also apply content filtering on both user inputs and AI outputs to prevent inappropriate material. However, as with any AI system, we cannot guarantee perfection.
